A: We
do occasionally use nuts and peanuts in some recipes. Although we take every effort to
ensure they don't contaminate any other products we unfortunately can't guarantee that any product will be nut free. Ingredients list are available on request.
Q: Are your cakes healthy more healthy than non-vegan cakes?
A: Whilst vegan cakes don't contain any butter or eggs, they do still contain sugar and vegetable oil! Like all cakes they can be enjoyed as a treat alongside a balanced diet, (but they're definitely not a health food!)
Q: Do your cakes taste like "normal" cakes?
A:
Our vegan cupcakes are easily as delicious as non-vegan ones! Our
larger celebration cakes do differ in their texture to non-vegan cakes,
being less light and more dense. (if you order a sponge it won't be like
a victoria sandwich; instead more like the consistency of a madeira
cake).
Q: Are your cakes organic?
A: No, but if you would prefer your order to be made with organic ingredients let us know and we can discuss it.
Q: What about food colours?
A: We ensure that all the colourings we use are vegan friendly.
Certain colours commonly used in cake decorating and food production carry the warning: “May have an adverse effect on activity and attention in
children”. These colours are Sunset Yellow E110, Quinoline Yellow E104,
Carmoisine E122, Allura red E129, Tartrazine E102 and Ponceau E124. If you prefer that these colours are not used in your cake then please let us know at time of ordering. (please bear in mind this may affect the overall design of your cake!)
Q: Do you make other vegan treats apart from cakes?
A:
We currently specialise in cakes and cupcakes, but we also love making cookies, muffins macaroons and "cheese"cakes! If you have something
different in mind, let us know and we'll see what we can do!
